Pilgrimage=Transformation

What is a pilgrimage?

A pilgrimage is a journey in one's faith meant to lead to transformation.

What is transformation? If you read different dictionaries, you can sum it up to a change, but more specifically it is a complete or major change.  For those that follow Christ, the change in us is a journey because our transformation is each day to live more “Christ-like.”

As followers we are constantly on a pilgrimage (journey) with God in our faith.  Sometimes, though, we get stuck and struggle in our journey.  When this happens, we need to find new ways to meet God in the ordinary places of the world.  We may need help to find connections with God.

This is what a Spiritual director/companion can help with, and so can set time apart such as a pilgrimage (journey) to a place known for being a “thin place” between heaven and earth.

Why are ordinary places, spaces, and activities in the world important to find for God to connect with us?  Simply put, it’s because this is where we spend the majority of our lives.  We do the laundry, wash the dishes, take the kids places, go to work, and mow the lawn.  As my husband says, “the laundry never ends,” and he is right! Therefore, we must learn on our pilgrimage of life how to find God so we can transform and find peace on the hard days while we always remember God gives us abundant, overflowing Grace (love). When we struggle on our journey, God wants to give us places to find Grace always, even if it means reaching out to another person to help us just for a season.

Are you looking for a space to meet God in a known “thin place?”
