A puffin on Lunga

The Abbey on Iona seen from a boat tour of the Treshnish Isles. (A boat tour you can take from Iona)

The house we are staying in for the pilgrimage

Fingal's Cave on the island of Staffa in the Treshnish Isles. It is where Felix Mendelssohn was inspired to compose the Hebrides Overture.
Remnants of the Nunnery on Iona. Wild flowers grow among the ruins.
Women are so often forgotten or deemed unimportant in ministry. In tours and books about the island and the sites, you are asked to think about the women in your life who have affected your faith and take time to remember them.
The Abbey has been refurbished and worship is held there each morning and evening on the island.

It takes at least one train, 2 ferry rides, and a bus to get to Iona. Don't forget the airplane to "cross the pond."

Life thrives even in places you would not think it could.
